Sindh Assembly has also adopted resolution against Black Friday.

LAHORE (Dunya News)- Opposition in Punjab Assembly followed footprints of Sindh Assembly’s lawmakers by registering protest through walk-out against use of term ‘Black Friday’.

Lawmakers from the ruling party suggested to table resolution against ‘Black Friday’ but joint opposition called for concrete and practical steps to curb the practice.

Meanwhile, Speaker expressed exasperation over absence of both opposition and govt lawmakers as only 25 members registered appearance in today’s session.

On the other hand, Lahore High Court has reserved verdict on petition against ‘Black Friday’. The petition states that day of Friday is blessed one and can’t be tagged as black.

Black Friday is an informal name for the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States of America, the fourth Thursday of November, which has been regarded as the beginning of the country s Christmas shopping season since 1952. It is celebrated across world as brands set hefty sales for customers.
